Backlight needed Liam Neeson like Liam Neeson’s need to save his family in all of his films. Which makes Backlight a very Liam Neeson movie. Released on February 11, 2022, directed by Mark Williams who seems to be obsessed with Liam Neeson; starring him in both his movies, Backlight, 2022 and Honest thief, 2020- Woah! That was a LOT of Liam Neeson!
Honestly, there is nothing new to the backlight from its genre of action- thriller and it doesn’t stray much except from a new set of family and job for Liam. The plot follows many of his movies’ plotline of a man forced into a situation that makes him rediscover his fighting skills and then his family is in danger and need to be saved- yeah that’s pretty much it and sums up most of Liam’s movies.

The story follows an undercover cop that does the work of what ‘legally’ cannot be done- kill people! These are undercover agents whose identity has been compromised and Block is sent to take care of them. And as soon as Block decides this work isn’t for him anymore, he is forced into a master scheme of conspiracies that involves people he trusts and people he can’t touch and could shatter all that he ever believed in.
And oh- since it’s a Liam Neeson film, he is trying to reconnect with his daughter and granddaughter who are put in danger because of his involvement in this conspiracy of the power that could put the common people in danger.
