Why Did Abigail Leave?
Abigail Deveraux played by Marci Miller was one of the crucial parts of the drama and had a great impact on the show. She was not only crucial but was also loved by the audience too. However, in the recent episode *SPOILER ALERT* she was killed off, or rather should I say murdered. She was found dead by his husband hours after they made love. Her death was a shock for all the show viewers and lovers. Her death also is marked as the death of the whole character and maybe we might not get her back anymore.
This death as revealed by the head writer Ron Carlivati in an interview with Soap Open Network would now explore the situation and reason surrounding Abigail’s death and the aftermath of the tragedy. This was a big and tough call for the show to make but was needed as Marci Miller did not commit for the entire show and also the show makers wanted to explore the bond of Abigail and Chad. Thus, they took the decision. Ron said about the twist –“For us and the audience, it’s always heartbreaking for a character to die because we love these characters, and they are part of our lives and part of our families.” “Even though it’s fictional, it hurts anytime we kill somebody” he added.
The show makers given the situation of the contract had only this option to kill Abigail. Abigail was a loved character and Kate who previously played Abigail was ready to come back but then not on the contract which leaves a fear of what next if the actor who plays Abigail leaves. Thus the only way was to kill her in the show and then explore and make a story around it.

Days of our Lives created by Ted Corday and Betty Corday has been a long-running successful show and for all the new viewers it would be surprising to hear that the US show has been there on NBC since 1965. The first episode aired on November 8, 1965. The series is set in Illinois in the fictional city of Salem and is based on two families mainly- the Brady and the Horton. There are other families as well though. The show had been such a success that the duration of the show was increased from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
The show has received a lot of acclaim for the story and for covering daring topics that other shows did not dare to cover at the time when it was aired.
