Night Sky is an American-born sci-fi drama series. It was created by Holden Miller and Daniel C. Connolly for Legendary Television and Amazon Studios. The show focuses on Franklin York and Irene York, a couple who possess a portal (chamber) that leads to another planet.
The couple finds the portal in their backyard and discovers it leads to a deserted planet. The show received a 76% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an average of 6.5/10 since its release on 20th May 2022. With a fairly positive rating and a cliffhanger ending, here’s what to expect from Season 2.
Will There Be A Season 2?
Currently, Amazon has not confirmed the series’ renewal for a Second Season. But with the first season ending on a massive cliffhanger, the creator’s show of interest in expanding the story, and the cast’s willingness to help with the same, along with the positive responses the show received from the viewers, it’s only fair to assume that there should be a renewal for a 2nd Season.
The Plot For Season 2
Season 1 ended with Irene and Franklin stepping into an alien planet. There they discover a whole civilization of humans. It is expected that in Season 2, they’ll explore the civilization and try to learn more without getting themselves killed. They are also likely to fine Byron, who mysteriously went missing towards the end of the first season. On the side, Jude and Denise will go on a search to find Jude’s father, Gabriel, and answer a few questions about himself.
We also noted how Hannah is now hellbent on getting revenge on Cornelius. In the new season, Toni and her mother will join her army and help her end Caerul’s Cult in the Fallen World. With season 1 only giving us very few details about the cult, we should learn more as the new season progresses and its history.
Who Do We Expect To See In Season 2?
We will most likely see J. K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek return for their roles as Franklin and Irene York, respectively. Piotr Adamczyk is expected to play Cornelius in the second season too. Sonya Walger as Hannah and Kiah McKirnan and Chai Hansen as Denise and Jude will also return. We will also see a new group of members added to the roster as we are introduced to new characters.
When Might We See Season 2?
With the first season having started filming in June 2021 and being released in May 2022, if Amazon confirms a reboot sometime in June through September, we can expect an early 2023 release.
Where To Watch?
Season 1 is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Having been created for Amazon Studios, the show will most likely have its second season dropped on the same service. Amazon Prime Video can be accessed for $8.99 a month. Season 2 should have somewhere between 8-10 episodes, so stick around for updates.
