Monotony is not something that anybody these days would like to go through. Therefore there is a lot of pressure on professions that provide entertainment to a larger mass of the world.
Competition is a major criterion that is prevalent on the other hand. Many people doing the same profession and only the best can survive in the field, the others die out and it is the reality which we have to face.
In the field of cinema too there are varieties, and that is what is needed. If there is no variety but a copy that is repeating for years is not the way to think about being successful.
Stream it or Skip it?
Skip it! I don’t think I need a second time thinking to give my opinion on this. The movie background revolves around old fashioned and outdated kind of romance, which is predictable most of the time. The Bollywood movies have already provided us with so many scripts that are similar to this movie. Why would anybody want to watch the same script just with different characters over and over again?
I feel that the director- Bruno Ascenzo could have been a little more aware of the fact that this generation might not want to buy a story of this kind of theme anymore! The movie is shot in Peru, which has beautiful sceneries, maybe with a better script, the movie will be duly appreciated.
Plot of the Movie
The movie is about a man who is wealthy and young, he wants to convert a place into a multimillion property to fulfill his dream project. Then there is a woman who sees life very differently, who does not believe in love and marriage!
The movie is straightforward and does not use any sense of curiosity for the audience. There are too many dialogues in the movie. The hero and the heroine are constantly talking in the movie. Some dialogues are so not needed, as it feels more like a skit and lesser like a movie.
For example, when the woman talks about her not having any faith in love or marriage, she goes on and on about it and says that she would have a tattoo that would last forever and hurts less! What is the need to use a metaphor for everything?
A Note
The movie is available on NETFLIX, the filmmaking could be a lot better, also the cast’s performance is not quite the energy needed for the movie. The movie set is really a beautiful and romantic one. The director could have used a lot of better resources including the writer to appreciate the beauty of his place. As the director is also from Peru he could have been more sentimental about his place.
The old-fashioned love is true to be appreciated, but not one that would be a theme of the entire movie! If the theme of old-fashioned love was concentrated may be on part of the movie, it would have created a better ambiance and responsibility for the movie!
