As soon as the trailer for Netflix’s latest thriller Fatal Affair released in June, fans on social media had a stroke. Because of the blend of Hollywood legends Nia Long and Omar Epps, including the track that played Joe’s “All The Things (Your Man Won’t Do)” was a formula for top ’90s nostalgia.

Pete Sullivan directs the movie, Fatal Affair. It has a strong star cast that includes Nia Long, Omar Epps, KJ Smith, and many more. And this movie also marks the third time when Long and Epps will share the same screen.
Long and Epps previously worked together onscreen back in 2004 in Alfie. And then in 1999 in the movie In Too Deep.
Fatal Affair Plot and More To Know
Admittedly, Fatal Affair has a storyline that we’ve witnessed much. Some will say too frequently. Hardworking lawyer Ellie’s marriage to her idealistic husband Marcus is in a trench, so she slides up and has a short affair with David, a former college friend who abruptly appears in her life. But soon she ceases their relationship. David doesn’t realize it and the relationship proves to be a FATAL AFFAIR.
Too Predictable? Yes, but the movie is set in the breathtaking San Francisco Bay region and gives you significant beach house envy.
What did the writers have in mind?
Long, (a producer on the film) revealed that when the writers presented her the script for Fatal Affair. (co-penned by Peter Sullivan and up-and-comer Rasheeda Garner) it was “composed for a white cast.” But before she contracted on to act the lead, having in mind that more Black voices are required both in-front of, and behind the camera, the actress wanted to make certain it was just right.
“Netflix and the producers encouraged the decision and began to make adjustments to the script just so it appeared like my voice, and there were several things that we developed to include who I am and then to include the rest of the cast,” she says. “That to me says that studios welcomed everything they needed to hold heterogeneity at the forefront. What you see right now are white actors telling, ‘Hey listen, I’m not going to do the voiceover for a Black character. I’m a white person. I’m will step down and let a black person play it.’ That’s their moment and their claim to play that character.”
Well, the flick will be an amazing one, with such a great cast, along with the experienced directors and producers.
