Even before the show “Love Is Blind” premiered, it generated a lot of speculation on social media for the interesting concept. The idea behind the show is exactly what the title says. 30 contestants (15 men and 15 women) build relationships on emotional attachment alone. This started a trend in the current dating game that is obsessed with judging people based on their looks and turned it into something entirely different. Netflix’s this social experiment turned out to be a huge hit! The contestants each have their own “pod” where they can only hear the person on the other side but not see them.
If a couple successfully falls in love, they get engaged. If one remains single, they are sent home. The engaged couples are then sent on a trip to see each other for the first time. But the show still doesn’t end here! They have to go through a series of tests to see if their love still holds on; for example, they have to introduce their reality tv partner to their parents, go through the tribulations that come with moving in together, etc. If their relationship is still bound strong, they can decide to get married finally.
Two years later, Netflix also released “Love Is Blind: Behind The Altar,” a three-episode special, as an anniversary party for the married couples, to give fans a glimpse of where the contestants are now and their relationships from the show are still going strong. Amber and Matt Barnett, Lauren and Cameron Hamilton, remained happily married after the show ended. Another couple, Giannina and Damien that didn’t engage while in the show, got together behind the curtain, but an engagement date is not set. Some of them are happily single, some in a relationship and some busy being parents!
Rumoured Release Date
Fans are eagerly waiting for the second season of the trendy dating show to be announced. It has been reported that the release date for the second season will be announced by Late September 2021. Unfortunately, production for most shows, including Love is Blind, was delayed because of the pandemic. But Netflix has assured us that we will enjoy Season 2 and Season 3 of the show soon. The show hosts have said that filming for the new seasons began in April 2021, which means we won’t be able to witness the electrifying connections onscreen before the end of 2021.
Expected Cast
It hasn’t been made known who will be cast in Season 2 and get a chance to find true love. But, the show’s creator, Chris Coelen, announced that the casting directors are very careful in who gets cast; they want a group of lively individuals with great personalities that, beyond doubt, are looking for soulmates. Season 2 will be filmed in Chicago.
Expected Plan for Season 2
Although nothing is confirmed, season 2 will likely have the same premise as the first season. Hopefully, we will see a tantalizing teaser with an intriguing cast and jaw-dropping twists!
