I May Destroy You is a British-based popular drama television series that was created, scripted, co-directed, and executively produced by the one women army, Michaela Coel. I May Destroy You was focused on airing only on BBC One network and HBO network.

The location for the movie is set in London and features some predominantly Black British cast. Talking about casting members for I May Destroy You, the movie includes few popular stars like Coel, who appears for the character named Arabella, a twenty-something-year-old writer in the public eye and seeks to rebuild her life after being raped.

The movie series was first premiered on the 8th of June 2020 via the BBC One network and the day before, like on June 7, 2020, on HBO.  Talking about the popularity of the series, many movie aggregators like Metacritic have given a big thumbs up and have acclaimed the series with many positive reviews as well. Also, few news aggregators like New York Times have called the series as “the perfect show for the anxious world.”

The movie series also won some awards like  BAFTAs for Best Mini-Series, Best Director: Drama, Best Writer: Drama, and Best Actress, in addition to two RTS Program Awards, two Independent Spirit Awards, a Gotham Award, a GLAAD Media Award, an NAACP Image Award, and a Peabody Award. And now also, the movie has been officially nominated for nine Primetime Emmy Awards as well.

I May Destroy You – What does its Plotline Focus on?

I May Destroy You movie series focuses on a character named Arabella (played by Michaela Coel), who is a young Twitter star who turned into a novelist in her late 20s. She found fame with the latest debut of her book named “Chronicles of a Fed-Up Millennial,” which was publicly celebrated as a millennial icon book.

As she struggled to maintain the second deadline for her new second novel, she decided to take a break from her work and thought to catch up with her old friends on a night out in London. After reuniting with her friends, the next day, she struggled to recall all the events happening on the night out; however, she gets help from her friend Terry (played by WerucheOpia) and Kwame (PappaEssiedu) to recall what all happened!

Who are Casting Members Appearing for the I May Destroy You movie?

Talking about casting members for I May Destroy You movie, Michaela Coel appears for the role of Arabella Essiedu, who will be a writer (also main lead character for the movie), Weruche Opia appears for the role of Terry Pratchett, who is Arabella’s best friend and a struggling actor and last as a lead cast we will see PaapaEssiedu as Kwame, who is Arabella’s best friend.
