Due to the covid situation, it was impossible for shows and series to be out so only it was equally impossible to think of the award shows. Though this is one thing that everyone enjoys. Seeing the celebrities in different attires to stand out from each other to some really weird stuff coming up the ramp.
From proper fashion sense to the most-awaited fashion weirdness, we’ve got it all. Last year it could not take place due to the covid situation. This was the 73rd year for the award show. Many shows are released all around the year and we need to take out some time to acknowledge the efforts of the people who are giving in so much for the world.
When Did it All Begin?
The nomination list was announced virtually in an event on July 13, 2021, whereas the award show actually took place on September 19, 2021. The event took place in Los Angeles, California. The entertainer, Cedric, hosted the show and kept up the liveliness of the show and it was entertaining as well. And the broadcasting was done by Paramount and CBS.
How Were the Awards Given?
This is a very old traditional award show, but for the first time in the history of the event did they record some spectacular changes. This time the awards were divided into two categories, namely, Outstanding Variety Special (Live) and Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded).
Apart from the other awards, the award made numerous appearances for the freshmen comedies, The Ted Lasso award.
How Was it Done in the Covid Period?
Last year due to the pandemic, this was done as a virtual event and the nominations were readout. The winners joined through the link and were not witnessed by any audience. So they lacked the fun, praise, and enjoyment. The sort of enjoyment that they could possess was that they were being awarded for their talent but those who had voted for them and had made them eligible to get the award could not witness this. And that was a major turndown.
The Main Events
The Crown,” “Ted Lasso” and “The Queen’s Gambit” were the big talk of the show and it was the most exciting and honorable part of the event.
The Queen’s Gambit is a Netflix original series that took the award home. It was counted amongst the best series and now they’ve proved it too.
Some Little Differences
According to the sources, the award show was indeed a big hit and there’s no doubt about the talented people who bragged about the awards and so we have some little things that were noticed throughout.
There were awards for 12, in the acting category, and very surprisingly, all of them were taken up by the whites. And now we’re wondering what happened to the non – whites. Did they stand a chance or were they just left out?
There were certain awards that were given away in memories of those who passed away last year or this year, but they are too the well-deserving ones.
