Who is La Llorona in Riverdale Season 6?
The story begins with a black-veiled woman who portrays the spooky theme in episode 2 titled ‘Ghost Stories.’ Lucinda, a Southside Serpent, is brought into custody for drowning her daughter, who is revealed later through Toni’s investigation that there is something else behind this story.
So, the results of this investigation prove true as the being who is behind all this is the weeping woman, also known as La Llorona. She also tries to hurt Juniper, but Cheryl comes to her rescue. Then the scene shifts to Betty, who seems to have encountered the ghost as she had touched her belly the last night. This was proved through the wet imprint which was left on Betty’s belly.
The next day when she goes to Dr. Curdle, he says that she is not pregnant anymore, which brings forth the justification of the ghost’s presence. La Llorona also appears in the school where Toni tries her level best to save the children.
Who Summoned La Llorona?
The story of La Llorona is revealed when Tony and Betty go to meet Cheryl and Nana Rose, who try talking to the spirit of the weeping woman who says that she is Martha. She used to work as a nurse in one of the hospitals in the town where there was a huge spread of what we call poses, which led to the death of many children, and she was the one who was accused of all this.
The town’s people did not finch a bit and drowned her along with her children in the Sweetwater Lake. This led to the formation of La Llorona, but now the question comes who is the one who summoned her. Darla is the one who is the summoner of this powerful spirit, and the reason behind this is vengeance which is later revealed through her.
It says that during one of the gang wars, Toni mistakingly killed Darla’s child, which is why she had done all of this. The episode moves on when Toni asks Darla for the forgiveness which she thinks she deserves. Toni says that this event shook her to the bones, and because of this reason, she even had to go to therapies.
Later, the story ends when the spirit of La Llorona enters into Toni’s body, making her the cursed one forever now. On the other hand, Toni tells Betty to take care of her son as she will not be there for her now.
