The widely loved crime drama Ozark has seen many deaths since its very beginning. The recently aired 4th season is divided into two parts with seven episodes each. The first part of the drama has already dealt with many deaths from the season’s very beginning.
Sheriff Nix’s Death
In the first episode of the fourth season, we can witness the rivalry between Darlene Snells and Javi Elizonndro. Darlin Snells was working closely with Nix, who was the Sheriff of the Ozarks. When Omar Navarro and his nephew Javi Elizonndro decided to work with the Byrdes after Helen Pierce was shot dead, they realized the fact that first, they have to ‘burn the thorns out of their way.’
It simply meant that they realized that they couldn’t let Darlene Snell grow drugs at her farm. So, to threaten Darlene, Javi took a drastic step in haste and killed Sheriff Nix which was his way of teaching Darlene a lesson. Later, the Byrdes helped him in getting rid of the body.
The Death of Kerry Stone’s Driver
The next to die was Kerry Stone’s driver. He was killed by Ruth Lang more because of his threat to her. When Kerry and Ruth met at a casino, Kerry had a fatal drug overdose. Later, when Kerry’s driver was giving Ruth a ride to Darlene’s farm, he promised to only stay quiet about the situation if he was generously compensated. Already stressed, Ruth didn’t think twice before shooting him to death.
Ruth was meeting up continuously with Kerry to talk about Darlene’s business so that he, as a wealthy man, could help Darlene’s business move smoother. Even after Darlene declined the offer, Ruth and Kerry kept meeting. Ruth and Wyatt later got rid of the body of the driver.
The Death of Frank Cosgrove
The next to die was Frank Cosgrove Sr.He was shot by an irritated and angered Darlene during their confrontation. Frank Senior kept on repeatedly asking for his money back from Darlene, and when Darlene said she didn’t have enough money to pay him back, he kept on triggering her by throwing all her insecurities at her face.
An angered Darlene then shot him out of frustration. Later, when his son Frank Junior came to know about his father’s death, he promised to take revenge on the one who killed him.
The Death of Darlene Snell and Wyatt Langmore
The death of Darlene Snell and Wyatt Langmore were significant deaths in the first part of the season. Javi, the acting leader of the Mexican Cartel, confronts Darlene and asks her why she still kept her drug business going on even after repeated warnings to stop it. Nervous and afraid, Darlene apologized, but that seemed not to be enough for Javi, and he ended up killing both Darlene and Wyatt in cold blood.
The question might arise why Frank Junior, who promises to avenge his father’s death, is not the one to kill Darlene. When Ruth got to learn that her cousin Wyatt was marrying Darlene, she didn’t want her cousin to suffer, so she requested Frank Junior not to do as he said. But to her shock, the worst did happen with her cousin in the end.
The first part of season four was indeed a violent yet shocking one with five deaths and a bombing in episode six, which had no fatalities, but many were severely injured. But, on the contrary, the next part of this season is predicted to be an emotional one. So, after all the goosebumps and shock, get ready to cry your hearts out and sniff your noses!
