What Is Rifkin’s Festival All About?
Rifkin, the Film Critic, is seen to be talking to a therapist about how his wife, Sue and he went to a film festival in nowhere else but San Sebastián. In the flashback, Sue is employed under a French director who has gained worldwide success with his recent work. Rifkin and Sue are seen to be starting their flirtationship, and to this, Mort is about to lose his mind.
Later in the story, it’s seen that Mort wants to make his marriage work, and he wants his broad back like olden times, but soon he meets a Spanish physician, Jo. Jo tried to cure his chest pain. Jo is married to a very problematic artist, and this information becomes an opportunity for Mort to begin a romantic story with her. He keeps making stories and excuses of health hazards so he can meet Jo, the physician.
