The Storyline of The Game
The Game is a drama about a football team that fights against color discrimination (racism), class discrimination, and against sexism’s stereotypical and patriarchal nature. The story revolves around Tasha Mack, a wealthy business woman who cares only about her wealth and business and her son Malik. They examine the condition of the black people and their culture in the present society.
Malik played football and had high dreams of owning the team someday. After his friend, Caleb Moore died on the field due to injuries, and he was a traumatized man. He felt it was the only thing he could do to honor the memory of his dear friend. His aim to have ownership of the team changed to prioritizing the health and security of his team members first after Caleb’s death.
The series also portrays the story of Brittany, who was optimistic and success-centric in a way she always wanted solely to be successful and nothing else. This had a negative impact on her relationship with Tasha Mack. She worked as an assistant to Tasha and always dreamt of leading the business someday. The show also portrays other characters like Jamison and Mr. Thatcher.
How did Season One End?
Season one ended with the episode where Malik took the players on strike. An enraged Thatcher threatened his mother Tasha to get her son on line or else he would cancel all the business deals with her. The story ends here, and to know Tasha and Malik’s fate, and he has to wait for the second season.
Speculations for Season 2
Season 2 may start with Tasha trying her best to go up to the ladder of fame and success by having different allies to fight against Mr. Thatcher. On the other hand, it seems like her son Malik has a great responsibility towards his team as he was the one to lead them to the strike. There may be possible attacks and threats from people who benefited from the game, and he has to learn the art to deal with all the dangers.
Also, there may be possible problems in Brittany and Jamison’s relationship after she met his former girlfriend in Las Vegas. Whether they stay together or break up, we will know about it in the second season of The Game.
