Space Force finally makes its return after two years of making its fans wait. The Steve Carell show, a workplace comedy at a military base, was subjected to mixed reviews during its first season. Yet the splendid cast and a few loose endings kept the show’s fans hoping that it would pick up in its second season.
The second season will be released on February 18, 2022, with seven episodes, all available together. For its second season, General Mark Naird and his team get together to face the consequences of the moon mission and face a new administration.
What to Know Before Watching it?
To begin with, yes, they do deal with the cliffhanger from the previous season, but it is all wrapped up and soon forgotten, making way for new plotlines. This season, the Naird deal with office politics and corruption among the white-collar officials. Unfortunately, however, all the plots seem half-baked. The only storyline they still tried to emphasize was Captain Ali’s PTSD from the moon mission, but even that fails to make any significant mark.
The second season certainly has far fewer characters with an easier narrative. Most of the action takes place inside the headquarters and among characters we’re already familiar with. The small star cast might be owing to the fact that the shooting took place during the Covid period, and a smaller star cast was a better way of avoiding any contraction.
Where has the Show Been Shot?
The show had to go through many creative changes, which seemed to have affected the show as well. To begin with, the show has been shot in the rainy Vancouver in British Columbia instead of the sunny Los Angeles from the first season. This has reduced the production cost by a lot. However, the cast members have also been reduced so has the number of episodes.
The first season had 10 episodes of 30min each; however, we see only 7 episodes of 30 minutes this season. Most of these changes have been done to keep up with the Covid scenario so that the team can continue filming without delaying anymore.
Cast
Steve Carell and Lisa Kudrow will be seen returning as General Naird and his wife, Maggie. Diana Silvers will also return as their daughter Erin. Ben Schwartz will also be back, and Don Lake and Newsome as Captain Ali. The guest stars include Terry Crews and Patton Oswalt.

On January 27, the creators came out with a trailer giving everyone a sneak into what was stored for the upcoming season.
