The MDR team is finally up with a solid plan to escape the domineering Lumon Industries while the show is at its second to the last episode of the season.
It’s yet again time for us to dive into the world of Severance, with Episode 8 airing, on April 1st, 2022. Severance has already created a big buzz with its intense and engaging plot with something new.
Season 1 of Severance is all set to end this season on April 8, 2022, with its 9th and the final episode of the season. Seeing where the story is headed, we can most likely expect a cliffhanger and a possible announcement of a second season. There has been so official announcement of renewal or cancellation of the show, but watching the ratings and the popularity it has gained, the show is most likely to come back with a second season and I hope so! Because I am not just done with the series and the plot!
Story So Far
Mr. Graner’s security card was on hand after he was brutally murdered by the one person who knows how to turn off the switch and the person who placed the chip on them in the first place, Ragabhi. He hands Mark, Mr. Garner’s security card before probing him to elope with it without any further explanation of why Lumon Industries decided to put chips on their employees.
With the help of this card, Mark, together with the other MDR team planned to trigger the Overtime Contingency, which then they could use to interact with their duties. However, it is not easy as it seems and the group soon realise the complexity of the procedure that can’t be performed by only achieving a security card. Irving reaches the group finally after he finds out that Burt is retiring and decides to help the group.
On the other hand, Mr. Milchick is trying his best to separate the outies and innies of his employees. He also contacts Mark’s sister and even refuses to tell Dylan his son’s name. However, it is due to the information provided by Mr. Milchick, about the Overtime Contingency, which Mark and the MDR team eventually try to use to finally meet their duties.
Episode 8: Plot Speculations
The MDR team finally seems to have a plan to escape the Lumon Industry, as seen in the last episode, where Mark got hold of a security chip.
Meanwhile, new advances occurred in Mark’s backstory and we were revealed that Mark’s wife had died in a car accident. However, when his wife’s face is revealed towards the end of the episode, it is revealed to be Ms. Casey- but how can this be as his wife had died in the car accident?
She is not a robot or a clone as she was taken to the break room, which could also indicate her growing unease with her innie and outie self and we might finally get to see her remember everything as, as for now, Mark and Ms. Casey don’t remember each other.
