Komi Can’t Communicate is a Japanese anime television series adapted by OLM, penned by Deko Akao, and directed by Kazuki Kawagoe and Ayumu Watanabe. It is inspired by the manga series of the same name by Tomohito Oda. Character development has been credited to Atsuko Nakajima.
The series made its Japan premiere on October 7, 2021, on TV Tokyo, whereas Netflix will be streaming the series for a global audience from October 21, 2021.
Recap of Episode 1 of Komi Can’t Communicate
The story opens with episode 1, with Tadano realizing that to stand out in middle school, he has to befriend people and get to know them better. In the locker room, he tries to talk to a girl but gets ignored by her. Later, when they both lock eyes, Tadano realizes the beautiful girl to be the famous girl of the school. He was swept by her phenomenal beauty and was awestruck by looking at her.
He assumes her to be a beautiful tree with flowers with its leaves blowing towards him with a breeze. He gets excited to see her, but the girl seems to feel scared to talk to him. The girl is named Komi Shouko, and without talking to Todano, she goes to her class. Tadano, perplexed by her reaction, follows her and enters the class. To his utter happiness, he finds himself seated next to Komi and feels of himself as the luckiest guy in the school.
What to Expect in Episode 2 of Komi Can’t Communicate?
The second episode of Komi Can’t Communicate will portray a simple opening in the streets with children going to school and the workers heading to their work. It will reveal about the two students who encountered each other on the very first day of school. The new girl is already the hot topic in the school owing to her gorgeous beauty. Everyone at school, even the animal’s open way for her, is struck at her beautiful face.
The girl ignores everyone, doesn’t talk to anyone, and moves into the Itan Private High School, an elite school in the city. Then enters an average-looking guy who goes to the locker room where other students also head, still in the thought of how he got admitted in the school. The boy is Todano, and he thinks of sustaining in the school without any problems and prepares himself to attend the first day at school.
It comes to Todano that sharing the seat with the most beautiful girl in school is a difficult task as everyone desires to be at his place. As the teacher asks everyone to introduce themselves, Todano realizes that Komi writes her name on the board owing to her inability to speak.
