The Matrix Resurrections is an upcoming installment in The Matrix film series. It is the fourth film of the American science fiction series. The upcoming film will be the sequel to The Matrix Revolutions (2003). The series is set in a dystopian future wherein a war between man and man-made machines has gone awry. Machines won, indicating the end of the technological control of humans.
These machines capture the humans and put them into a simulated environment, the Matrix, for their power source. The prisoners who try to break free are chased by their mechanical imprisoners inside and outside the simulation. Neo, Trinity and Morpheus are the humans trying to get free of this system while Agent Smith pursues them.
The Matrix series was created by the sisters Lana and Lily Wachowski. The first film was released in 1999. The upcoming film of the series, The Matrix Resurrections, is set to release on December 22, 2021.
The Matrix Resurrections Tickets on Sale
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming The Matrix Resurrections on Monday, and with that, the tickets have gone on sale too. The official Instagram account of the movie series announced that the tickets would go on sale from December 2021.
The film will be released on IMAX only, giving the die-hard fans the chance to experience the movie on the biggest screen possible. With this, the first movie, The Matrix (1999), will be exclusively released on the IMAX theatres for only two nights, 7 and 8 December 2021.

The Matrix series belongs to a science-fiction genre of cyberpunk in which the story is set in a dystopian future where the focus is on high-grade technology with low-level human life.
The self-awareness in the man-made machines led to the war between humans and machines, and the latter won. The machines capture humans and put them into a simulated 3-D environment to get their power source.
The prisoners who manage to break free are hunted not only outside the simulation but also outside. Neo, Trinity and Morpheus are trying to break humanity free from this prison.
The Release of The Matrix Resurrections
The upcoming movie, The Matrix Resurrections, is set to premiere on December 18, 2021, in San Francisco, United States. The movie will be theatrically released on December 22, 2021, in the United States. Warner Bros Pictures will also release the film on HBO’s streaming platform, HBO Max, on the same date as its theatrical release for a month.
According to the premise of the movie, Neo is living an ordinary life in San Francisco with his original identity while his therapist advises the infamous blue pills to suppress the memories. He meets a familiar face who fails to recognize him.
But a new version of another old friend, Morpheus, gives him the red pill, and he is plunged to the familiar version of the Matrix, which now has become more unbreakable after the Smith infection incident. Neo decidedly joins a new team of agitators to fight the enemy.
The Cast of The Matrix Resurrections
Keanu Reeves stars as the rebel Neo along with Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity. Laurence Fishburne has been replaced by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus. The cast is joined by Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Ricci, Jessica Henwick, Priyanka Chopra Jonas with Ellen Hollman. Lambert Wilson and Jada Pinkett Smith also star.
Lana Wachowski directed the series’ newest film from a script written by her, David Mitchell and Aleksander Hemon. Wachowski also produced the upcoming film with James McTeigue and Grant Hill.
