What to Know Before Watching?
The 22nd episodes progress into the situation of Kaya and Gabi and deal with their development. Gabi abandons Reiner so she can save Falco. In the process, she runs into Kaya and rescues her from getting ambushed by the Titans. Kaya returns the favor by defending Gabi in front of the soldiers when they suspect her of her identity.
They couldn’t help but what inspired them to defend each other, all the while having no common goals. Meanwhile, Connie manages to kidnap Falco with the intention of feeding him to his mother so she can become a human once again. Consequently, Armin, Jean, and Mikasa are now endowed with the responsibility of managing the newly formed Titan, which is now in the quest of assassinating all the Eldian soldiers.
Keith, who was let go initially, gives support to the trio is competing against the pure Titans that had assembled to attack the Eldians. They were successful in gathering all of them on a fort and killing them in a single swing using the Thunder Spears.
What Happened in the Previous Episode: A Recap
The last episode was titled “From You, 2000 years Ago,” which is based on the manga sharing the same title. Through a flashback, we get a deeper insight into Yimir’s past when she was a slave at an Eldian tribe under the leadership of Fritz. One day as she took the blame for a pig that had escaped, fritz’s when decided to use her as a hunting bait. Yimir fell into an abyss and came into contact with an alien substance.
This substance turned Yimir into a Titan. Fritz could acknowledge the benefit it would bring to her ans decided to keep her that way. Throughout the time, the tribe made multiple uses of her, including things like declaring wars, tilling the land, and many more. After her death, Fritz let his daughters eat her so that her powers could carry on in the family.
