Plot of Sherwood
Sherwood is a drama that is based on a real story of a small mining village in Nottinghamshire. The village residents are shocked after two deaths that threaten to relight the decisions that arose during the Miners’ Strike. The community is again facing the horrific events of the past. Modern-day political and social themes will be seen, and Ian St Clair is set on a path to find the connection between these two deaths.
Cast of Sherwood
David Morrissey is playing the role of Ian St Clair, the Detective Chief Superintendent. He is a well-known detective and has an excellent track record. He has been allotted the task of finding the link between these two murders. Amid that, he has to work with his old rival who is Kevin Salisbury, the Detective Inspector (played by Robert Glenister), and this person is tormented by his past events.
Other characters of the show include Mickey Sparrow (played by Philip Jackson), who is an entrepreneur making a fortune through illegal methods. The role of his wife- Daphne, is played by Lorraine Ashbourne. Cathy Rowley (played by Claire Rushbrook) fell in love with one of the miners and was distanced from her sister in the strike. Fred Rowley (played by Kevin Doyle) is the miner with whom Cathy fell in love. He is a reserved and quiet person.
Scott, who is Cathy’s stepson, is played by Adam Hugill. They both don’t share a good relationship. Adeel Akhtar is seen playing the role of Andy Fisher. He is a broken man who lost his wife years ago and is still struggling to overcome that loss. Andy’s son Neel (played by Bally Gill) is in love with Sarah (played by Joanne Froggatt). Andy looks to him for emotional support.
