Blood Red Sky has received a great response from the audiences and has gained more than 50 million views. This being said, it is fair to say that this is going to be on the list of Netflix’s greatest German movies. Earlier, the record of maximum views on a German series was held by Barbarians. Blood Red Sky is a thriller and has proved to be a major hit worldwide. The movie is consistent in its performance on Netflix, and now it seems that Blood Red Sky 2 might be coming soon.
The success of Blood Red Sky, which is a German-produced film, is a surprise for Netflix as this overwhelming response wasn’t expected at all. Currently, the situation is such that the streaming platform wants more of it from Peter Thorwarth. The plot of the movie is such that a sequel can be easily made. Blood Red Sky was released on July 23, 2021.
Apart from being widely seen by global audiences, it has also managed to secure a position in the Top 10 viewed shows on Netflix in 93 countries. Well, isn’t that amazing! It acquired the Number 1 position in 57 countries, another benchmark being set by Blood Red Sky. The fame it has acquired globally is highly appreciated. The movie was a global hit, but it is in a Number 2 position in its own country.
In Blood Red Sky, we see how the nature of a vampire becomes even more aggressive with their every feed. Hijacking the plane, Nadja controlling his hunger for a feed just so that he could protect his son is all so emotional.
Blood Red Sky 2: Possibilities
Till now, Blood Red Sky 2 hasn’t been officially confirmed by Netflix, but we’re positive that this will happen. Recently horror movies and series have gathered a huge fan base, so it’s never bad to invest in this particular genre. Shows like Army of the Dead, Fear Street and His House have proved the same in the past. In an interview with Daily Dead, Peter Thorwarth said that he’s currently working on his next project.
On being further inquired about the possibilities of Blood Red Sky 2, he said that he’s looking for a next challenge and that he’s done it already. Blood Red Sky has left many questions answered, tapping the possibility of a sequel. However, there are slight chances of the sequel proving disappointing to the audiences. It would likely be difficult to hold onto the same storyline and meet the expectations of its fans.
There’s also a fair risk of deviating from the storyline. If a sequel is made then, the makers will have to keep in their minds that a balance has to be maintained so that the story doesn’t die.
The Cast of Blood Red Sky 2
No official news regarding the members that’ll be returning for the second part hasn’t been heard yet. The impeccable cast of Blood Red Sky includes Kais Setti, Peri Baumeister, Alexander Scheer, Dominic Purcell and Graham McTavish. In Blade: Trinity, Dominic Purcell plays the role of Dracula. The movie has been a great experience owing to the great acting skills of these actors and Thorwarth, who tried to get this project made for the last 16 years.
Release Date of Blood Red Sky 2
Currently, the project hasn’t been finalized, so we can’t say anything about the release date. Since Thorwarth is currently working on some other project, if Blood Red Sky 2 is ever made, it needs a new filmmaker to develop a proper script. Looking at the reviews and ratings of the movie, it is quite clear that audiences have showered their love for the movie. We hope that a sequel gets made, and if that happens, we can expect it to come by 2023.
Thanks for the update on a sequel. And I agree balance will be difficult to accomplish.
