The protagonist of the series is Lisa Nova, who aspires to be a film director. This story takes place in the early 1990s. Determined to become a film director and to picture her dreams, Lisa Nova heads to Los Angeles. This script is all about what happens to Lisa, why and how did horror come into the story, and how she tackled the mysteries happening around her.
The episodes are titled I exist, Hair of the dog, Roman candle, Tadpole smoothie, Jennifer, Milk bath, Egg, and Bodies. The reason to mention the name of the episodes is to add to the essence of strangeness and curiosity it creates.
The first episode of Brand new cherry flavor opens by showing a dark highway in which Lisa drives towards her city of dreams. The cinematography of this scene definitely set the bar very high for the rest of the episodes. This episode also shows 90’s Los Angeles which seemed realistic. On reaching LA, Lisa bumps into a producer, Roy. She believes him and this is when the story begins to take a turn as the director expects something more from Lisa Nova.
In the rest of the series, Lisa slips into Hallucination and encounters mystery, magic, zombies, and horror. Later, she runs into Boro, a mystical cat lady, and unveils her mysterious past.
With each character added to the storyline, it becomes interesting and confusing at the same time. Lisa later uncovers the truth. When all the mystery comes to an end, the series finishes off as Lisa heads to the airport.
Movie Cast
The story revolves around the Lead role, Lisa Nova who was played by Rosa Salazar. This role was undoubtedly one of the best roles of her career and received much appreciation. Eric Lange played the character of Lou, who supported the role of Lisa nova throughout the film.
Later, it was exposed that Lou was the person who her go through all the trouble, because of the person that he is. Jeff Ward played Roy Hathway, whose character was the key role in bringing twists and turns to the series. The character of Boro was played by Catherine Keener. Her role was responsible for exploring the mysteries as well as solving them. These are a few important characters of the series.
Apart from this, we also have Manny Jacinto, Hannah Levien, Siena Werber, Daniel, Mark Acheson, Leland Orser, Darcy, Gabe, and Sean O. Roberts who played the roles of Code, Christine, Mary, Jonathan, Pierre, Mike, Ralph, Tim, and James respectively. Even though they just played the supporting role, each role contributed to unveiling the mystery of the series and in taking it forward with even more curiosity.

Brand New Cherry Flavor was undoubtedly one of the best releases of that year. It has compiled all the genres that can be possibly and logically put into a single series. This series was definitely worth the hype created by the trailer.
For the audience, who are into magic, mystery, and witch study this series will make sense and they can easily connect things and understand why it happened that way. An audience that likes to feel a bit more logic in their binge-watch would consider this as an average film but not worse. The work of Lisa Nova is much appreciable. Her character was brilliantly penned down.
The special effects used in the movie were apt and to the point. The team has done decent work overall. If a series has so many positive reviews, then it must also have a few pitfalls. The pitfall to this series is that they have tried to implement too many magical features in one series.
