Bumblebee is an American science fiction action film that was first released in the year 2018. The film revolves around Bumblebee, a character from the superhit series Transformers. The film was developed as a spin-off and was later on announced as a reboot of the series. The speculations suggest that the second part of Bumblebee, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is all set to release on June 24, 2022, and the fans definitely can’t wait for its release.
Travis Knight directed bumblebee, and as Paramount Pictures announced in January that a new Transformers movie will release in the year 2022, and seeing the success of Bumblebee, it is speculated that the film might be a sequel to the original Bumblebee. The popularity of Bumblebee wasn’t hidden when after a bad box office flop of Transformers: The Last Knight, the release of Bumblebee was a massive hit. This gives rise to the speculations of the release of a Bumblebee part 2.
What is the Status?
As of now, there hasn’t been any announcement from the maker’s side that the Transformers film that is scheduled to release next year will be a sequel to Bumblebee that was released in the year 2018. But keeping in mind the huge success of Bumblebee, it might be possible that the upcoming movie is a sequel to Bumblebee.
However, since there is no confirmation on this, one might also assume that it can also show all the Transformers keeping in mind the name- Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. If the film is supposed to be released in 2022, then the making is already in progress, and shooting might have already started.
Expected Cast and Plot
The first Bumblebee film ends with Bumblebee and Charlie, both going their separate ways, and the arrival of Optimus Prime for a family reunion with some other Autobots whose identity wasn’t revealed then. Such instances can be made into a completely new spinoff or worked upon to begin the storyline for the sequel. Bumblebee was quite different compared to other Transformer films as it focused more on specific characters rather than action and stuff like that.
There are chances that Part 2 of Bumblebee focuses more on single characters like Optimus Prime as well as other Autobots, and family could be the central theme if the “family reunion” that was seen in the ending of the first part of Bumblebee is considered. Paramount pictures have not made any official announcement regarding the plotline or cast of Bumblebee.
However, if the sequel is made, one can assume that John Cena might return to play the character of Jack, a military man, Hailey Steinfield can return as Charlie, Jorge Lendebord Jr. can return to play the character of Guillermo Memo Gutierrez, and Dylan O’ Brian can be back for voicing Bumblebee. Even though the Transformer film is releasing in 2022, who is there in the cast isn’t clear yet, and the fans are eagerly waiting for a teaser trailer to satiate their eagerness to know more.
