Netflix is forever on the drive to expand its viewership. Gone are the times when Netflix only catered to adults with a specific kind of genre. Now Netflix is for everyone, even kids. Furthering their hold on children as part of their audience, Netflix is coming up with another cartoon series by the name of Cat Burglar. The series Cat Burglar is from the makers of the hit Netflix series, Black Mirror. Cat Burglar adds to the list of Netflix’s interactive series, increasing its market for shows which are also like games. Cat Burglar is about to premiere very soon and we are here to let you know everything you need to know about the show.
Plot
The cat burglar is, literally, about a cat. We follow the adventures – or misadventures – of Rowdy the Cat. Rowdy has to steal certain paintings, but this he cannot do if he doesn’t manage to escape the watchful eyes of Peanut, the security dog. Netflix described the show as edgy, over-the-top, weird, and witty. This sounds like a recipe for an interesting show, for sure. What’s the most amazing and intriguing thing about the show is Rowdy’s fate will be decided by us, the viewers, who will choose options as answers. This is how it goes in an interactive show – everything is dependent on the audience. If you fail – so does Rowdy, which results in hilarious consequences.
Cast and Crew
The creator of the show is the immensely successful man behind Black Mirror – Charlie Brooker. The writer of the show is an Emmy Award winner famous for his work in Bojack Horseman, Mike Hollingsworth, and James Bowman. Other cast members include Trevor Devall, Alan Lee, and James Adomian. From the trailer, it is evident that the cartoon is reminiscent of the classic Tex Avery cartoon – who created characters like Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, etc.
When Will it be Released?
Each episode has an average duration of about fifteen minutes, and the entire animation that one episode offers is more than 30 minutes. You can also play one episode over and over again and unlock new endings, new animations, and punishments. The interactive show by Charlie Brooker will be premiering on the 22nd of February on Netflix worldwide. The minimum age requirement for being able to watch Cat Burglar is 13.
Where tO Watch Cat Burglar?
The show marks another step for Netflix into the world of gaming. From the trailer, it is clear that the cat, Rowdy, is trying to evade the security dog, Peanut, as he tries to steal priceless art from the museum. When they face-off, Rowdy tries to escape from Peanut – be it by swinging a club, or whatever. How does he avoid Peanut? When the viewer answers the questions – asked very quickly, one after another in a fast manner – correctly, then Rowdy wins. If the audience chooses wrong answers, it results in Rowdy’s horrifically funny punishment.
