Cowboy Bebop is an upcoming series. It falls in the genre of science fiction. The series is a Live-action adaptation of the classic 1998 anime series with the same name. For those of you who don’t know what a Live-action adaptation is, don’t worry! You are not the only one! Live-action includes photography instead of animation. André Nemec develops the series.
The storyline is set in the year 2071 and follows the lives of five people. The earth is destroyed, and humanity has shifted to other planets to live their lives. An Inter Solar System Police (ISSP) is set up to look after the crimes taking place. The ISSP has appointed Bounty hunters who catch criminals and bring them to the police in exchange for a reward. Initially, Spike and Jet Black are the only bounty hunters catching criminals and traveling through their spaceship.
The spaceship is called “Bebop,” while the Bounty Hunters are called “Cowboy”. Later on, the Bounty hunter duo is joined with more people and a dog. As the story progresses, we see what all dangers come their way and how they fight them. We get to know about the past of the characters that they want to keep in secret. We come to realize that some past stories are better unsaid.
Release Date
Season one of Cowboy Bebop is set to release on November 19, 2021, as announced by the officials. The series is said to have ten episodes. Initially, this series was set to release in 2020 but was postponed due to Covid-19 and the leading actor, John Cho, suffered a leg injury halting the filming process. The series is set to release on the Biggest OTT platform- Netflix. As of now, there is no official trailer for the series. However, fans can watch a behind-the-scenes clip featuring an adorable corgi, Ein.
Cast
The actors starring in the series are John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell as Vicious, and Elena Satine as Julia. John Cho is playing the character of Spike Spiegel, and he’s a bounty hunter from the planet Mars; he has a past of being in a violent gang. Mustafa Shakir is playing the role of jet black, and he is an ex-cop bounty hunter of Spike. Daniella Pineda is playing the role of Faye Valentine, who has numerous amounts of debt and has spent more than 50 years suspended after an accident.
Alex Hassell is playing Vicious, the long-standing rival of Spike, after formerly being together. He is from the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate. Elena Satine is playing Julia, and she is the person connected to the history of Spike and Vicious.
Is Cowboy Bebop Season 2 All-Set to Return on Netflix?
Since season one of Cowboy is going to be out this year, there is a possibility that we might get a season 2 in the next one or two years. However, the original Japanese anime had a single season; hence season 2 seems difficult. But if the previous season is a hit, the makers might think about making another season or maybe a sequel. So even though nothing is fixed about season 2, we can always hope for the best.
