DC has an astonishing number of movies and series coming in 2021 and 2022. They have decided to start this line-up with an animated film titled ‘Injustice.’ Injustice is an action animated film by DC the game and the comic. Matt Peters directed the film, and it was written by Ernie Altbacker, Tom Taylor, and Ian Rodgers.

The Plot of the Movie

People who have played the Injustice game or have read the comic would know the plot. However, for the people who do not know the story, this is how it develops: The plot of the film is that The Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane. As a result, the world is consumed in chaos and anarchy, and Superman decides to control this chaos in his own way and becomes a tyrant of the Earth, and Batman decides to stop him by gathering a team of heroes.

What You Should Know

DC’s Injustice movie is based on the video game called ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ and the DC comic titled ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One.” The animated film was directed by Matt Peters, who is a famous actor and writer known for his work in Orange Is the New Black, Weed, and Nature Break. The animation style reminds me of the classic DC animation, which brings in the sense of nostalgia.

With a nostalgic animation style of the characters, the different fight scenes in the movie are immensely dynamic. They would keep fans of the film on the edge of their seats because the movie is way more exciting and appealing than the 2d game. One of the reasons to like this animated movie is that the characters’ costumes were simplified and toned down, which, for me, made the film much more riveting.

But the disheartening fact of this ‘hero versus hero’ movie is that it missed the potential to be the best movie of its genre. The voice cast of this movie is one of the best, and it is one of few reasons why the movie excels. Justin Hartley did an outstanding performance, and he perfectly voiced a sad and emotional superman. Even though the cast delivered a solid and fantastic performance that kept its audiences’ concentration on the film the whole time, the end result was worth it.

However, compressing everything into one film had its shortcoming because of the limited time, the writers of the film had to minimize a vast portion of character development, and there were plot holes as well, which resulted in a dull and emotional empty movie. In my opinion, if the film were to be in two segments or an animated series, it would have done much better.

Where to Watch

The fans of the movie would be disappointed to know that none of the OTT platforms are streaming the new DC film, not even HBO Max, which is the home for DC’s films and series, however, it may change in the future, and the new film will be available there. But, as of now, people who are interested in watching the ‘Injustice’ film will have to purchase it. Currently, the animated film is available for both digital and physical purchase on Blu-Ray via Amazon.

The digital version of the film costs around $ 19.99, but the physical copy of the film costs $ 29.99. However, the cost will rise if one would like to watch the film in the 4K version and it is available in a physical copy; therefore, it will cost $ 39. 99. The movie is available on Amazon Prime Video UK and on Sky Store in the United Kingdom, and in Australia, the film is available only on iTunes Australia.

The only word in the dictionary which can describe Lokesh well is "Curious". He is a man who sits in the corner of a café, sipping his coffee and watch others and write about them having a good time. Addicted to bettering himself each day. An impressive introvert who finds his home in the places he travels. It's either the power of universe or sunsets that sets his soul free. In between, He can be found wrapped in his own bubble, knitting stories even before the sun rises!
