So, as mentioned earlier that the story of the movie revolves around a teenager Evan Hansen (Platt). Most of the critics have found him the most awkward kid on the earth. He was suffering from some illness and was taking a lot of medicines, but his illness didn’t get any name throughout the movie. They just showed him nervous and hallucination attacks.
The teenager had no friends; he couldn’t get the support a child should get from his family. The therapist Evan was seeing got him a work to write letters to himself. Once, his crush’s brother (Connor) got his letter’s hard copy from the school library, and even after pleading with him to return the letter, Connor didn’t return the letter to Evan and left.
Evan was scared that Connor would post the letter on social media handles. He kept checking different social media applications. But, after several fearful days, he came to know that Connor had died and his parents had gotten the letter from his pocket. Now they think that Connor had written these letters to Evan.
For no good reason, Evan didn’t clear the misunderstanding and went with the flow. He started making up stories about his and Connor’s friendship. He started writing phony email exchanges to use as evidence to strong up his pile of lies.
Till now, the movie hasn’t even completed two hours, and the audience has to be very patient and calm to watch further. The movie takes a lot of infuriating turns where the audience may lose their patience.
