Matt Groening is back with another interesting animated show for the adults after The Simpsons and Futurama with Josh Weinstein and Reid Harrison. It’s called Disenchantment! The first episode of Disenchantment aired on August 17, 2018, on a very famous platform known to all of you, Netflix.

Casts and Release Date
Abbi Jacobson records bean’s voice, the character is a teenage princess from Dreamland, and her full name is pretty long, which is Princess Tiabeanie Mariabeanie de la Rochambeau Grunkwitz. Bean enjoys drinks and is a rebellious character in the show. However, even though she’s this way, she actually genuinely cares for her father, friends, and the people of Dreamland.
She realizes throughout the show that she has magical powers to produce black lightning, and she got it from her ancestors, who made a deal to become more and more powerful. Eric André records Luci’s voice. As Pendergast, Luci is Bean’s personal demon and the head of King Zøg’s knights.
Nat Faxon records elfo’s voice. Elfo is from a place called Elfwood, and he’s 18 years old. He likes candies, and he’s an optimistic creature. Then there are King Zøg, Queen Oona, Prince Merkimer, Odval and Queen Dagmar. These characters’ voices have been recorded by other artists as well.
The 4th season of Disenchantment aired on February 9, 2022, on Netflix. There will probably be 10 episodes in season 4 of Disenchantment.
What is the Plot of Disenchantment?
The series is about Princess Bean’s misadventures with her personal demon Luci and her naive companion elf, Elfo. This trio deals with sprites, ogres, trolls, imps, and human fools throughout their journey towards these misadventures. In the 10th episode, Zøg isn’t able to manage the country, whereas Bean is selected as the Queen.
And as soon as Bean tries to tackle the situation, she notices Big Jo and Porky, and they say how sorry they are for their previous behavior. Bean is skeptical, and she decides to send them to the dungeons. Elfo devotes himself to her. Then they realize that they need an elevator to hell to work on their plan. And it’s seen that Luci is shot in the elevator and is in heaven now. Season 4 continues from this cliffhanger.
Everything You Need to Know Before Watching
The last episode of season 3 aired on January 15, 2021. The episode’s content was that Bean was having a stressful day when her old nemesis appeared out of nowhere and brought an earthquake in her life, which was visible in its different behavior. First, everything resting starts to tremble and shake. Then ogres invade Dreamland and won’t let go of Elfo at any cost.
In the show, you will see that the curse in the Disenchantment is that the family will suffer from some kind of a curse, and the monarchs will go crazily insane, and the symptoms are seen with paranoia and hallucinations, and murder. The answer to where the curse came from is the overdue debt from hell that it owes from the family members.
Is it Worth Your Time?
If you are a fan of the mythology genre fan, you should definitely watch this shoe. This animated series is out there on Netflix for everyone who needs a new perspective regarding toxicity and neuroticism. Even though you are a solid person, we get to see how you can be compassionate and caring to people and the world when in need.
The 3rd season ended with a cliffhanger that left the audience’s mouth wide open. Hence it’s definitely worth your time. The upcoming season will have more twists and turns in the show and probably make you cry. You will see a more disturbing plot as it’s Bean’s journey ahead now. The show has entertainment, neuroticism, comedy, mythology, and much more stuff.
There’s no reason not to watch it. So go and stream it and binge-watch Disenchantment. Give yourself a chance to feel something different from usual. It’s an adventure.
