Downtown Abbey 2 was initially scheduled to open in theatres on December 22, 2021. However, in recent updates, it was revealed that Focus Features had shifted it to Spring next year.
In its tv serialized version, Downtown Abbey had run from six seasons from 2010 to 2015 and was picked up for a movie in 2019, which earned $31 million in the domestic theatres within the opening weekend.
