Everybody’s Talking about Jamie, as the name suggests it is about the talks which are trying to oppress Jamie from becoming what he truly is. The movie is directed by Jonathan Butterell, who has brought forward the exact personality of Jamie in its true essence with his brilliant mind and extravagant talent.

The movie was liked by Jamie and his mother Margaret Campbell, too, as they said that the music took them into nostalgia. The movie is not just about Jamie’s life but also about many others who are put down by society and cannot choose the path that will bring forward their uniqueness.

Jemie Campbell, a teenage boy, lives in a small hometown of Bishop Auckland. It’s his journey of accepting who he is, Besides all the brutal comments of the insensitive people around him. Only the accepted that he was gay in his teenage years and wanted to be a drag queen. It’s said that the change starts from within, and the same happened with him too. He was made to feel disgusted not only by the strangers but his parent too.

However, his mother was quite a fierce one who never let him down and encouraged him at each and every step of his life. She said to everyone one thing all the time that if any girl can wear a suit to the prom, then why does a guy get restricted from wearing a frock.

Other Information About the Movie

This light-hearted musical comedy first began its life on the stage in 2017. A decade before that, it was a TV documentary about the real-life story of a teenager who wanted to pursue the career of his choice and wanted to become a drag queen. It is an adaptation of the great West End show, which was based on the 2011 documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16.

The star cast includes Max Harwood as Jamie, Sarah Lancashire as his beautiful understanding mom Margaret, and Lauren Patel as his best friends, Priti. Then we have Sharon Horgan, who took up the task of playing the role of the teacher who wouldn’t allow Jemie to attend the prom while wearing a drag. Richard E Grant is one of the scene-stealer as the role played is that of Hugo Battersby, also known as Loco Chanel.

The movie is a kind of inspiration to all the teenagers out there who are forced to bow down to the rules of society. The rules are just scene-based; these do not imply every time to everyone. Instead, one must look up to their own path and follow what their heart says because it will never leave you alone. To become what you truly deserve when have to look beyond society and focus on self-development.
