Four years back in 2019, Netflix premiered this TV series called Wu Assassins, which joins the search of a martial artist with the power of a thousand to recover an ancient amulet from a ton of bad guys. Season 1 ends with Kai Jin, the lead protagonist, thinking his work is done. But the arrival of a mysterious envelope suggests otherwise.
Cut to 2022 January when Netflix drops the trailer to the stand-alone movie titled Fistful of Vengeance, which reveals Kai and his friends are not done being legendary assassins yet. Directed by Roel Reine, who also directed the first two episodes of the series, the movie was written by Cameron Litvack and Yalun Tu of Quantico and NCIS: Hawaii fame. Living Films produce the film.

What to Expect from the Movie?
The story follows Kai and his friends, who are also super-powered, as him seeking revenge for the assassination of their close friend, a restaurant owner, Jenny Wah (played by Li Jun Li). Their search for the assassinator takes them to Thailand.
However, upon reaching Thailand, the trio gets entangled with some bygone enemies- a mysterious billionaire and an ancient mystical force who determined at achieving world domination. The trio has to defeat both these forces, and this time in broad daylight.
It is evident from the trailer that it will be a complete action-packed mystical drama with long-shot fight sequences inspired by the 2011 movie The Raid and the Netflix original movie Extraction. The movie is also oozing with multiple gun-fu sequences, reminding one of John Wick.
Whom to Expect in the Movie?
The Fistful of Vengeance has a talented cast. Iko Uwais plays the lead role of Kai Jin. Apart from him, the other people joining on board are Lewis Tan, JuJu Chan, Jason Tobin, Francesca Corney, Lawrence Kao, Tony Kranz, and Ratha Phongaam.

Should You Wait for the Movie or Not?
A big YES. The fantastic direction and skillful choreography of fight sequences the beautiful camera work provide for a killer watch. With a talented team of writers, both of who have tons of experience in writing, edge-of-the-seat suspense will provide for the much-appreciated nail-biting gripping drama.
We are all aware of Uwais’s work in the Wu Assassins and The Raid movies and know how dependable he is as an action hero. He seems to have gained more of an edge for this movie. The rest of the cast also seems to be in form. JuJu Chan also looks vey promising as the villain. All in all, this movie is a great package and a great gift from the creators as the audience awaits any announcements for the second season.
