Among the most anticipated and high ranking titles, Ghost of Tsushima topped the list this year. Sony is known for its intense and intricate Role Playing games like the Infamous and Uncharted series open-world games. Following in the footsteps and leading the gaming world is the latest addition to the PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima.

It is an action-adventure game made by Sucker Punch Productions for Sony. Set in the late 13th century on Tsushima Island gives a vivid picturesque feel of forests, countryside, farms, and mountains. Moreover, this game changed the art of play for open-world games with amazing interactive gameplay. Similarly, the sheer amount of detail and graphics in the game is awe-inspiring, which makes playing it a fantastic experience. Let’s get into the release date and other recent updates into the game.

Additional Update Release Date

After facing an initial delay on the release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The game came out on July 17th, 2020, in its full glory. Therefore, it took the gaming world by a storm outselling its peers on day one of its releases. Sucker Punch loaded the game with four further editions, which came with their own sets of items, equipment, and unlocked different game abilities.

Its been only a few months since the full game release, and the developers have already scheduled a free multiplayer expansion to the game. Certainly, Sony announced it recently in their new blog post, which sets a date for the development titled, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, on October 16th, 2020. It was first revealed back in August, and now the time is almost ripe.

Ghost Of Tsushima: Story and Gameplay

The game’s story is based on the actual events of the invasion of Japan by the Mongols in the late 13th century. Although it takes a little deviation here and takes the protagonist Samurai’s name Jin Sakai to the Tsushima Island where he fights and defends the island from the Mongol army and struggles with his inner conflict. The story admirably weaves several characters into the main storyline giving it an added depth.

The upcoming expansion to the game creates the stage for online multiplayer gameplay. Players can play along with three other players in a new game mode. Players can choose their characters from different fighting factions: Samurai, Assassin, Hunter, and Ronin. Each character comes with unique skills and attacks. Developers have also added a four-player raid feature similar to other similar games, namely, World of Warcraft and Destiny.

How to get the Update?

The first requirement to get hold of the Update is to have the full game. Game owners will be able to download the version 1.1 of Ghost of Tsushima after its release. Players will be able to download the free Update by visiting the PlayStation store form their PS4 consoles. Although, a PlayStation Plus subscription is also required in order to access the Update.

This game has already taken over the gaming world by large, and the attention of the developers at the game is a good sign of it achieving more in the coming future.
