Russell Lewis is the creator of the British tv detective series Endeavour, co-produced by Mammoth Screen, Masterpiece, and ITV Studios. As a member of the Masterpiece Mystery! Anthology debuted on ITV in the United Kingdom on January 2, 2012, and on PBS in the United States on July 1, 2012. Eight seasons have been aired, with the most recent ending on September 26, 2021. Series 9 will be the last to air and is planned to premiere later in 2022.

Episode 1: Striker
The squad is brought in to look into the brutal and strange death of an Oxford college dean in the winter of 1971. Endeavor’s capacity to engage on the issue is jeopardized when Thursday uncovers an unexpected finding, and he is pushed aside. When Thursday and Win receive troubling news abroad, their domestic situation becomes rather tight. Despite being off-duty, Endeavour investigates a lead and deciphers a complex conspiracy that exceeds his wildest expectations.
Episode 2: Scherzo
The season is the summer of 1971. A driver is found dead in his vehicle on the borders of Oxford, and Endeavour and the team are called in to look into the case. The team is concerned that an assault has turned into a murder after a recent spate of attacks on cab drivers and that the people of Oxfordshire are now at the mercy of the murderer. Endeavor receives a visitor at his house in the meantime who brings back unpleasant memories for him.
Episode 3: Terminus
Although weary from the stories of the past years, there is no hope of “light duty” at the CID at the beginning of 1971. Instead, with a scotch in hand and crestfallen, Endeavour found himself right back in the middle of things when a shocking murder at an Oxford institution has severe political repercussions. Endeavor has been charged with serving as the star striker of Oxford Wanderers’ bodyguard after the IRA threatened his life.
