What is the Plot of Jack Frost?
Rock band “The Jack Frost Band,” led by Jack Frost, performs blues covers and a selection of their own original songs in the fictional town of Medford, Colorado, hoping to sign a record deal. Having just returned from a snowball fight against Rory Buck, he turns to his son Charlie, who just came from a snowball fight with his friend.
Jack tells Charlie that his harmonica will be able to hear him wherever he goes after building a snowman in their front yard. He got it as soon as Charlie was born, jokingly telling him it was a magical timepiece. The winter is coming to a close, and Jack struggles to reach Charlie’s hockey game. After that, he decides to carry Jack to the cliff when the temperature is very low, but it is actually a difficult task to convince him to do it.
Rory also insults Charlie by asking which snowman is stupider, and Charlie asks which one. In response to Jack’s correction of his last sentence, Rory empathizes with Charlie’s lack of a father and assists Charlie in sneaking Jack onto a truck for the vacation. In the days preceding Jack’s death, Charlie and Jack arrived at the isolated cabin where the family was supposed to spend Christmas.
Gabby is shocked when Jack calls to ask her to come to pick up Charlie; she recognizes his voice and agrees. Disheartened, Charlie hears Jack’s words that he must leave. A body of a snowman vanishes when they arrive, clearly showing Jack in his not-so-real manner. After saying farewell to his wife and son and giving each of them his love, Jack tells Charlie that he will be with them wherever they go.
Gabby and Mac both enjoy watching Charlie play hockey with his friends (including Rory now), as well as Mac playing the piano in the closing moments of the film. There are snowmen on all of the lawns in the final street scene.
