Murder Mystery 2 is a forthcoming American comedy movie scripted and directed by Jeremy Garelick. It is a follow-up to the 2019 movie Murder Mystery, which starred Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. Netflix is getting ready to release it.
It’s been nearly 3 years since we first had seen Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in their positions as Audrey and Nick Spitz — the couple discovering Europe on a postponed Honeymoon who continually find themself in the wrong place at the wrong time — in Netflix’s massively successful 2019 film, Murder Mystery. But, perhaps, it won’t be long until they’re returning to our screens! We know Murder Mystery 2 is in the planning, but when would we see our favorite rookie investigators again?
Netflix revealed in 2021 that it has green-lit a follow-up to the famous murder mystery thriller. And production is said to have wrapped in February 2022. But if you were looking for a premiere this month, you’ll be disappointed because Murder Mystery 2 will not be available on Netflix until May 2022. Here is what we know about Murder Mystery 2.
When Will Murder Mystery 2 Release?
Netflix has not yet announced any release date for the Murder Mystery 2. As previously said, filming on the movie has already started, and it is maybe only a few weeks into post-production, thus the anticipation for its launch could be rather long.
The original film was released 10 months after it moved into post-production, and if the follow-up takes a similar launch timetable to its original, we may see Murder Mystery 2 on Netflix in February 2023.
Murder Mystery 2 is expected to be ready on Netflix in late 2022 at the latest. Of course, this is only a projection because there is no official news at this time, so please remember that the launch might be completely different from what we expect.
What is the Current Filming Progress of Murder Mystery 2?
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler visited several locations in Paris, where the filming for Murder Mystery 2 took place. They were previously seen having a little work break during a shooting in Hawaii in February 2022.
Murder Mystery 2 production started in January 2022. And the actress just shared an age-defying photo on Instagram, announcing the completion of production for Murder Mystery 2.
What to Expect From Murder Mystery 2?
The couple Nick and Audrey Spitz got caught up in a homicide case while taking a trip on a billionaire’s boat in the first movie. The pair, together with the other associates of the ship’s crew, assisted in the capture of the true murderer, and they soon resumed their holiday on the fabled Orient Express train. If the train is included in the second and the story continues from the conclusion of Murder Mystery, we should predict a lot of laughter and thrills.
The sequel’s narrative will most probably take fans to comparable exotic places; with shooting taking place in Paris, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. With several unanswered questions right now, all curious fans could do is speculate based on the limited information we have.
Understandably, Netflix would want to keep as many of the narratives hidden as feasible. The original movie was a huge hit. The streamer is presumably hoping to recreate that with the second to generate anticipation. More information would most certainly be provided in the next few months. But for the time being, all we could do is wait.
Cast Members
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston play their parts in the sequel. Others returning from the first movie are John Kani and Adeel Akhtar. At the moment, these 4 are the sole verified survivors of the original. Various new characters would join them, like Annie Mumolo, Jodie Turner-Smith, Mark Strong, Melanie Laurent, Enrique Arce, Kuhoo Verma, Zurin Villanueva, and Tony Goldwyn. While we know these actors would appear in the movie, we don’t know what roles they would portray or how they’ll be linked to the main narrative. More cast announcements and details are expected in the weeks and months ahead.
