Keanu Reeves starred John Wick franchise will be back soon with its fourth chapter. The upcoming action film will bring back Reeves as an uber-assassin. A week after Lionsgate released John Wick: Chapter 3 -Parabellum in 2019, they announced the franchise’s return. John Wick battles his way through New York streets and Casablanca as ruthless killers make him his target. For John Wick: Chapter 4, Chad Stahelski is once again assuming the directorial position. Derek Kolstad and Shay Hatten are writing the screenplay of the movie. Here’s everything you should know about the upcoming chapter.
When will John Wick: Chapter 4 Release?
John Wick: Chapter 4 is officially being filmed. As per the reports, it will premiere in the theatres on May 27, 2022. The release date has suffered a pushback because of the Covid pandemic. When the plan was officially announced in 2019, after the universal acclaim of Parabellum, the fourth chapter was set to open up on May 21, 2021, almost two years after the release of Parabellum. However, it is now tagged for the 2022 release.
What will happen in John Wick: Chapter 4?
John Wick’s character as an assassin “Baba Yaga” is at the center of a tumultuous full of action profile. In Parabellum, John Wick makes his exit from New York City on the grounds of ‘ex-communication,’ as the High Table declares. John Wick shoots a top member of this world-controlling group of assassins. However, he returns to shoot his friend, Winston, who double-crosses Wick to please the High Table and shoots him in the chest. Bowery King saves him, and together they pledge to seek revenge against the High Table.
While any plot leads for the upcoming chapter are not available as of now, but it is expected to pick the hanging plot trails of the previous chapter. Hence, it is likely that the plot will continue Bowery King and John Wick’s endeavor to bring the High Table on its knees. Wick’s enemies, as of now, do not know that he is alive. Wick is likely to return as a covert assassin before the game comes to the forefront and shooting and full-fledged action begins once again. Parabellum had great ratings, and it is expected that the upcoming movie will continue its trend of action and strong, compelling plotline to invest viewers into its story of intense action as it gears itself to overpower its predecessors.
Who is in the Cast of John Wick: Chapter 4?
Several familiar faces will make their return to the new chapter. The eponymous character of John Wick is back once again, with Keanu Reeves reprising his role. The death of Zero posits the exit of Mark Dacascos. Ian McShane will be back in his iconic role as Winston. Director Chad Stahelski is more than happy to bring McShane into the fourth chapter. McShane is also a collaborator for the John Wick franchise as he assists Stahelski in defining the John Wick world.
Lance Reddick will be back as the Continental concierge, Charon. John Wick’s savior and upcoming partner in helping him overturn the High Table, Bowery King, will be reprised by Laurence Fishburne once again. As High Table’s Adjudicator, Asia Kate Dillon will be back. Jason Mantzoukas will return as Tick-Tock Man. Besides them, Rina Sawayama, Bill Skarsgård, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Scott Adkins are also returning.
As a deadly and violent war ensues between the two sides, the forthcoming movie will be nothing short of a rollercoaster ride.
