Season 2 of Kingdom came out long back, and there was no news of the third season until now. But just recently, fans received the good news about it coming back on screen. Kingdom Season 3: When will it Release?
Netflix has not given the word on its release yet, but the fandom suspects a 2021 potential release for the trailer, namely in September. The actual show could take up to 2022 or even 2023 to come on screens.
Plot Up Till Now
The kingdom is a hit Netflix series that first premiered in January 2019. As soon as it came out, people fell in love with the plot and the characters. It was almost impossible not to release a sequel, and fans would have rebelled in that case. The storyline was about Lee Chang (Ju Ji-Hoon), the Crown Prince of Joseon, who is faced with a zombie outbreak immediately after the tragic death of his father. The first two seasons follow his journey to understand and fight the inexplicable monsters that appeared on the face of the Earth suddenly and caused indescribable destruction.
At the time of the season, the Earth we know and live in was facing a pandemic of its own, the plague of COVID-19, so people immediately resonated with the story to a greater depth, causing it to be a massive success. Unfortunately, season 2 was left at a cliffhanger when Prince Lee Chang faked his death to avoid some circumstances, and his son became the rightful heir to their kingdom. Production Updates
Since Netflix has not announced the show officially, it’s only logical to assume that they have not started the production either. The previous seasons took well over a year each to shoot, edit and finish promotions. And now, amid a pandemic, it would be foolish to assume when they might start and finish shooting.
Plot Details
The plot is likely to continue where the writers left off, a fake death and an untrustworthy new King. In season two, Prince Lee Chang discovers a woman keeping zombies alive – almost as hostages. We might find out what her intentions were all along and what she wants from the Prince. As for the New King, we find out a parasitic living in him, which has mutation powers.
