Romantic comedy movies are not a new thing. Locked Down is a story of a couple who have separated but in order to get money, make a plan to execute a heist of a jewelry store. The whole film was shot in the pandemic, and the couple’s life in a pandemic has been shown. Plot of the Movie
This movie tells the story of a couple with certain relationship issues which are struck with each other in the Covid-19 pandemic. Paxton and Linda are a couple whose careers are a huge problem to them. Paxton had been in an assault arrest 10 years ago, leading him to get jobs only as a delivery truck driver. Paxton is forced to make deliveries in fake identities by his boss because of a staff shortage.
Linda, a CEO of a marketing company who has to clear inventories from a fashion display. When Linda tells Paxton that there is a £3 million diamond in the Harrods vault, they make a plan to exchange the real diamond with the fake one and keep the actual diamond for themselves.
They eventually are successful at their mission of swapping the diamond, but a new problem has to be faced. How does the couple get out of this situation and keep up with each other, you will see in the movie.

The cast of this movie includes Anne Hathaway in the role of Linda, the separated wife of Paxton, ChiwetelEjioforin, the role of Paxton, the separated husband. Reception by Audience and Critics
The audience and critics have given this movie mixed reviews because of the strong performances by the leading cast, but the plot of the movie is a huge mess. The Covid-19 backdrop to the heist movie almost makes the comic part of the movie emotional and steals back what people owe.
There were a lot of criticisms towards how the movie has unnecessarily added complex situations in the story that do not make any sense or add value to the movie.

With the average reviews, it is clear that the movie does not live upto its mark. Locked Down fails to deliver a good story even with a talented cast. However, you can watch the movie and decide for yourself if it’s your cup of tea.
