Love It or List It is a television show on HGTV, W Network, and OWN Canada about house design. The series debuted on W Network on September 8, 2008. It has subsequently been shown on OWN Canada and HGTV in the United States. In North Carolina, manufacturing started in September 2014.
The format of Love It or List It is constant. A spouse or family demonstrates their house to designer Hilary Farr and real estate agent David Visentin. In April 2016, Big Coat TV and the North Carolina contractor (Aaron Fitz Construction) were chosen by the show to do the improvements on the property of Deanna Murphy. However, Tim Sullivan filed a lawsuit against the homeowners. Regarding the renovation of their home, one couple argues that their funds were misallocated and the work was performed poorly. According to the lawsuit filed against the network, the show’s stars are not engaged in the renovation process, nor were they offered houses for sale by licensed real estate brokers in North Carolina. Big Coat TV has said, “We intend to vigorously defend ourselves against what we believe to be unfounded allegations.”
What is Love It or List It?
A couple or family is introduced to Hilary and David at the beginning of a Love It or List It show. Following this, Hilary redesigns their home to match their individual needs and financial constraints. David attempts to locate properties for sale that fit the requirements and finances of his customers.
The two then compete to convince the homeowners to either remain in their freshly refurbished home or relocate to a new place. After Hilary and David have completed their renovations, the “new” house is shown and the owners are shown what a genuine new home can provide.
