Mayday – an action drama film is soon going to greet your screens. The movie is the debut of director Karen Cinorre. Mayday is her first-ever movie. She has participated in writing, directing and producing the movie. She received a total of three nominations for this movie. Furthermore, she’s previously written for a short film – Plume, back in 2016.

The movie Mayday is all set to release on 1st October 2021, as announced by the officials. The movie is going to be released in theaters in the United States and will also be available on demand. The movie was previously released at the Sundance Film Festival in the month of January. The movie has received an IMDb rating of 4.8.
Some of the viewers who watched the movie at the Film Festival gave out mixed reviews. They found the movie not really having a point. Some even pointed out that it could give rise to toxic feminism.

The cast of the movie consists of Grace Van Patten playing the role of Ana, Juliette Lewis is playing the role of June/Bathroom Attendant, Mia Goth is playing the role of Marsha, Havana Rose Liu is playing the role of Bea, Soko is playing the role of Gert. In addition, Zlatko Buric is playing the role of Max, who is The Cook, and Théodore Pellerin is playing the role of Dimitri, who is also the Radio Man.
Grace Van Patten has previously appeared in the recent ongoing mini-drama series – Nine Perfect Strangers. Mia Goth has previously appeared in the movie Nymphomaniac and A cure for wellness. Juliette Lewis has previously appeared in the psychological thriller movie – Ma.
Plot
The storyline of Mayday revolves around the life of a young girl, Ana. She works in a hotel, and her boss is not an ideal person; he harasses her all the time. Then, a Sudden power cut occurs, and Ana starts following a voice; she has somehow reached another world. She reaches an island and meets a group of women. These women kill any and every male soldier that comes too close to the island.
These girls live mostly in a submarine. Slowly, she starts connecting to one of them more than the others. She finds the others very aggressive and psychopathic. She later on comes to a point where she has to either go back to her life of being looked down upon and insulted or stay and become one of the – murderous, have evil intent, cold and heartless.
Furthermore, she is set to realize that she is not a killer, and even though the thought of killing someone gives you the thrill – She has to make a choice.
