Pachinko is a nearing drama series directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon. It is based on one of the best novels of all time written by Min Jin Lee in 2017. Pachinko is a historical novel that features the story of a Korean family who migrates to Japan and encounter racism and other troubles.
Inspired by the novel, Pachinko is created as a TV series with 8 episodes of which, the first three episodes will release on March 25, 2022. Following the launch, one episode is expected to air every week until April 29, 2022. Pachinko is exclusively available for the audience only on Apple TV+.

Pachinko elaborates the story and struggles of four different generations. It screens a Korean family that moves into Japan around 1883. The Korean family is surprised by the way the Japanese treat Korean migrators and the minimum job given to them. Despite the problems they are put through, the series shows how the Koreans lead their lives in another country.
The main protagonist of the series is Sunja. She is impregnated by Hansu who later reveals that he is already married. Later Sunja marries Isak for name sake and move to Japan, where she gives birth to Noa and Mozasu. A little later, Japan enters into World War and Sunja struggles to financially stabilize her family. She works at a restaurant, which is owned by Hunsu. Later, her sons move on with their lives get married and inherit Sunja’s generation.
Among the problems going on in her family and in Japan, the story beautifully leaps from generation to generation and present how they survive and strive hard for their lives.
Meet the Cast
Sunja is the lead role of Pachinko and her presence is across all the generations. Childhood Sunja is played by Jeon Yu-na, teenage Sunja is played by Kim Min-ha and an old Sunja is played by YounYuh-Jung. Hansu is played by Lee Min-ho, who is famous for his works in Boys over Flowers, Legend of the Blue Sea, City Hunter, and many more. Steve plays the role of Isak and Soji Arai as Mozasu, the son of Isak.

Apple TV has announced that the series is going to be available to the audience exclusively only on Apple TV+. The first three episodes will release at the same time.
