The world cheered when Paddington’s 3rd sequel was announced. Studio Canal broke this news at the Cons film festival. The Paddington fandom was ecstatic, as the previous two movies had done extremely well and left everyone amazed by the incredible story and casting.
David Hayman, the producer of the Paddington franchise, confided on Hugh Bonneville that the movie won’t start until something as good as Paddington 1 and 2 comes up. So, if the third sequel has the green light, it will surely be as amazing, if not more, as the previous ones.

TogglePaddington 3: What We Know So Far

This sequel is coming after a huge time jump as the last sequel to the movie came out in 2017. This is probably because the producers didn’t want to rush and just come up with another Conjuring 3 (seriously, that movie shook my loyalty to Conjuring) that would disappoint the whole fandom. It is, after all, one of the most popular live-action animations that touched the hearts of many.
Paddington 3 has been confirmed to start shooting mid-2022, and due to the big time jump, the crew that made the phenomenon, that was Paddington 1 and 2, has scattered a bit. For one, Paul King, the director of Paddington 1 and 2, will not direct the 3rd sequel due to commitments with “Wonka,” a prequel to another favorite of children, Charlie, and the Chocolate Factory.
But he showed his loyalty by choosing to stay connected as a producer. There is so much to speculate on as there has been so much information provided for the Paddington 3. The fans are also left to wonder who the new villain will be after the movie had big names play the villain in the previous sequels. Also, will there be a new cast, or is the original cast coming back to the screen? (It would be heartbreaking if the original casts are replaced).
Paddington 1 and 2: The Phenomenon, That They Are
Paddington did extremely well and caught the hearts of many with its good spirit, humor, and excellent cast. The Paddington 1 and 2 grossed $280 million and $225 million on their run at the box office and became the top live-action animation movie of the year.
Paddington’s movie follows a bear’s journey from Peru to London. It has been directed extremely well based on a children’s literature book character, and the movie truly reflects the book’s spirit. It is the kind of movie that’ll make you see the world with a new perspective after you watch it.
When is Paddington 3 Expected to Release?
There is still no official confirmation on the movie’s release date as it’s still under production. It could either be released in 2023 or 2024, as the output will start in mid-2022. But with the global Pandemic constantly pushing at us, we have to be ready for a possible reschedule at any moment.
Where can You Watch Paddington 1 and 2?
Paddington 1 and 2 are available on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, youtube movies, fuboTV, Netflix, Peacock, and Vudu, where you can rent the movie or stream it online.
