The Director of the thriller and highly anticipated “The Card Counter” is now all set for the making of his next movie. The Card Counter has just been released a few days back on September 2, 2021, in the theatres, but the director is all set preparing for his next movie and has even casted the lead roles of the film. Sigourney Weaver and Joel Edgerton have been cast for the leading roles.
All we can expect from Paul Schrader’s film is fascination, sex, and surprising. Master Gardener is said to be the follow his recently released film The Card Counter.
Release Date
This would be too soon to be expecting the release dates for the film, as the cast and the crew are yet to start with the filming for the upcoming thriller. The production of the film is expected to start in early 2022. And principal photography will also take place early next year. The film is written and will be directed by Paul Schrader and will be produced by David Gonzales, along with Amanda Crittenden and Scott LaStaiti.
The executive producers will look after the film’s execution: Luisa Law, Linda Ujuk, and Dale Roberts. HanWay is said to be reuniting with the director Paul Schrader for the second time, the first being during the movie “The Card Counter.” HanWay mentioned how excited and grateful they are to be collaborating once again with one of the greatest filmmakers.
Cast
So far, only the leading roles have been cast. Joel Edgerton who will be seen playing the role of the gardener who is dedicated to his work and is devoted towards fancying and decorating the big estate land, whereas, Sigourney Weaver who will be playing the role of the landlord, the owner of the huge estate where the gardener works, Mrs. Haverhill.
Other supporting members are yet to be cast, or maybe if the director has already cast the other cast, it may still take time to make the official announcement about the cast members and their roles.
Plot
The story follows a gardener, Narvel Roth (played by Joel Edgerton), who works on the land of Mrs. Haverhill (played by Sigourney Weaver). Mrs. Haverhill asks Narvel to accept her great-niece as a trainee and teach her trade skills and other related things; this backtracks his life and threatens him back to his violent life in the past.
These are all the updates so far about The Card Counter’s successor film. We would get information by time and once the team starts with shooting of the film. The filming is expected to take place in the United States early next year.
