Episode 3 of Raised by Wolves has created many possibilities and has many hints, prompting the fans into speculations and experiments with the plots that might unfold in the next episode, episode 4. In the previous episode so far, we see Mother on a mission to kill No. 7 but cannot go through with it and instead offers it blood.
This shows the programming of Mother as a nurturer for her children, which was her primary purpose. She also finds out that No. 7 is a herbivore, and its scale is incompatible with the acid ocean, making her realize it was not the reason for the peoples’ death at the camp and poses no harm. But if it was not no. 7, who killed the people?
Mother and Marcus’s Connection
source: CBRIn episode 3, we see Mother standing with her arms spread, something she does while preparing to fly, and Marcus doing the same, indicating the connection between them since he swallowed her eyes. This has given him much power, but he has also become detached and seems to be building on him. Episode 4 seems like the time he would explode as his tension builds up and he becomes stronger.
Who is Grandmother?
Meanwhile, Father finds an android skeleton bone which he puts together to form a structure similar to that of Mother. This has fans speculating if this creature is the one from the trailer who muffles Mother. IMDb recently leaked the name of a character called Grandmother, played by Selina Jones.
Could this android skeleton that Father is nurturing be ‘Grandmother’? A previous version of the mother? The residents have already found much evidence of a previous settlement with their own cult. Could she be their Mother? What forbidden knowledge does it possess? Will it be a friend or a foe? This new character holds so many possibilities for changes and new plots to birth in the next episode.
Also, the father using his own fuel blood for nursing the android, and the constant feeling of unworthiness from Mother might push him towards taking much bolder steps to nurse this Android to live. He even goes to a pit fight and wins against an industrial android. He seems to become extremely happy with the response he receives at the pit after losing his pride when he loses the fight to Marcus. This incident could change Father’s perspective of things and his actions.
Who is the Voice?
The identity of the voice is still unclear and widely suspicious. It seems to have been guiding the people and manipulating them towards the birth of the Serpent. However, Marcus thinks that the voice is Sol, speaking to him in the beginning but seems to abandon him once his part is done.
Who is Attacking Decima?
In the trailer, we see a character attacking Decima with bloody hands. Could this be Vril? In episode 3, Vril discloses to Campion that her mother broke her neck once and since this artificial Vril has all the memories of the real Vril.
It is highly suspicious as when Campion asked more about the incident, and she said it’s “restricted,” which left me wondering, was this incident before she became an AI or after? It was before. Does this mean Decima killed her daughter and turned her into an AI? Does Vril remember everything and try to kill Decimal?
Episode 4
The name of episode 4 of Raised by Wolves is CONTROL, which is ironic because the mother has taken it to her to try and control No. 7 while Father is nursing the ancient android. Marcus is also being ‘controlled’ in a certain way by Mother’s eyes which are making him more detached. We will just have to wait for now till the next episode airs and discloses who will be controlling who.
