Director D.J. Caruso is back with a brand new genre that is a mix of Romance, Drama, and History. The movie is called Redeeming Love and was released in theatres across the U.S. on January 21, 2022. The movie was shot at the beautiful City of Cape Town in the African Continent and is co-produced by Nthibha Pictures, Mission Pictures International, and Pinnacle Peak pictures.
The movie is based on Francine Rivers’ best-selling Christian Fiction novel, which was released in the year 1991 by the same name. The story is set during the California Gold rush and is inspired by the story of prophet Hosea and his wife Gomer and how the story revolves around a kid who was sold into prostitution as a kid.
The movie is based on the most basic Principle of any person turning to God- First, they sin, then pray to God for the redemption of the Sin.
So now comes the main question: Can we stream it on any OTT platforms or not? But before we answer this question, let’s see a brief plot of the movie.
Redeeming Love Synopsis
The story starts with Angel, the most asked Prostitute in town in the most famous brothel. She suffered abuse as a child, and the series of flashbacks she has proves to us that she does not stick to her sentence of “Never look back, never look front.” The abuse she suffered was horrific, which no human should face.
Michael Hosea prays to God for a wife and is led to Angel in the brothel. He pays to just talk to her and ultimately convinces her to marry him, and they go to their farm. Due to all the tragic stuff, she faced like suicide, child molestation, sex trafficking, etc., she is not able to trust Michael and does not revert back to his kindness with her own.
The plot then evolves into Angel leaving Michael and then returning back to him after she realizes her love for him.
Where Is Redeeming Love Available?
Redeeming Love is a theatrical release and is available across all the theatres in the U.S. However, the movie won’t be available online on any OTT platforms. Cast
The movie has an amazing and Over the top cast with Tom Lewis and Abigail Cowen as Michael and Angel, respectively. Nina Dobrev did a splendid job playing Mae, Angel’s mother. All the actors contributed to their role beautifully and did the characters justice. Other actors in the movie are Logan Marshall-Green, Famke Janssen, Branden AUret, Josh Taylor, Clyde BErnng, Livi Birch, and many more.
