Sherlock Holmes, released in the year 2009, is the first part of the Sherlock Holmes movie series, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, released in the year 2011, is the second part.
Both these movies were directed by well-known director Guy Ritchie, who is also a producer and businessman. He has written, directed, and produced films like the gentlemen, released in 2019, and Wrath of man, released earlier this year. The previous two movies had starred veteran Actors like Robert Downey Jr., Rachel McAdams, and Jude Law. Robert Downey Jr is known for his works in many superhero movies like The Avengers, Captain America, etc.

Rachel McAdams has bagged some nominations and awards too, like Hollywood Film Awards in the category of Breakthrough actress, International Online Cinema Awards in the category of Best supporting actress, ShoWest Award In the category of Female Star of the Year.
Release Date?
Warner Bros had confirmed that a third part of the Sherlock Holmes movie series would be released by December 2020. However, those plans got postponed to 2021. Hence, the release date for Sherlock Holmes 3 is set as 22 December 2021 but is uncertain because of the global pandemic situation. The filming has already started, and hence it’s highly likely we will get our best detective movie by the end of this year.
What Can We Expect?
Even though the plot of the movie is still a mystery, we can expect that the movie Sherlock Holmes 3 will go on to another step in exploring different adventures and looking carefully at various pieces of evidence. The movie will be directed by Dexter Fletcher, who is a well-known actor and director. He’s directed movies like Wild Bill, released in 2011, and Bohemian Rhapsody, released in 2018.
He won the Zlín International Film Festival for Children and Youth in the Best European Debut Film category for directing Wild Bill. The previous movies of Sherlock Holmes received nominations by Oscars in the Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Best achievement in art direction.
