“Sicario” follows a principled FBI agent commissioned by a government task force to bring down the head of a ruthless and brutal Mexican drug cartel In “Sicario: Day of Soldado”. The focus shifts from drugs to human trafficking.
And if there happens to be a part 3 of this movie franchise it will most likely be “Sicario Capos”. It will pick up from where it was left off in “Sicario: Day of Soldado”. It is expected that Miguel to work closely with Alejandro and hopefully cross paths with FBI agent Kate Macer.
The producers have called it an “anthology trilogy”. The audience is desperately waiting for the third installment and so are the producers. So this “anthology trilogy” can be complete and the movies can truly be called that.
Who Might Return?
While nothing has been finalized, Black Label intends to get Berricio del Toro back as ‘Alejandro Gillick’. While Josh Brolin as ‘Matt Gravert’ (CIA officer)and Jeffery Donovan as ‘Steve Frosting’ are expected to come back nothing has been confirmed. The producers and audience are interested in getting Emily Bluntas ‘Kate Macer’(FBI agent) back one cannot be sure of anything.
Because this movie has reportedly called “Sicario Capos” which roughly translates to “bosses” in English it is expected that Matt and Alejandro will be fighting with the toughest drug Kingpins they have ever dealt with.
Producers And Directors
This installment would be produced by Black Label Media, along with Trent Luckinbill, Molly Smith, and Ed McDonnell. The first installment was directed by Denis Villeneuve who reportedly said he is ready to shoot this movie within a heartbeat but doesn’t have any available dates. The director for the second installment was Stefano Sollima who in 2018 had he wouldn’t direct the next installment because each movie should have its own new director, who will be some newness to it.
When Will It Release?
That is the million-dollar question, when can we finally get to watch the third installment? There is some good news to “Sicario” fans out there. The producers have confirmed that the movie should enter production this year (2022). And due to the mixed response, “Sicario 2” received the studio will take extra precautions while assembling and editing this third installment. We can estimate that “Sicario” would be out by early to mid-2023.
For now, all we can do is sit back and wait, hoping that we will get to watch “Sicario Capos”. Believe that this movie will be just as grand and awesome as “Sicario” was.
