A new supe in the shape of Soldier Boy, who appeared in a flashback sequence in episode 3, has only made The Boys more exciting. No one in The Boys can reasonably stand up to Homelander, thus we know he will always be the show’s most powerful super. However, as seen in the teaser, Soldier Boy will make an appearance in the series’ current chronology at some point. So, who will come out on top in a battle between Soldier Boy and Homelander?
Homelander
To this day, Homelander is the greatest supe in The Boys due to his superiority in all of these areas. Despite the fact that Billy Butcher said that Homelander was almost as strong, Homelander will never be defeated almost.
Although Soldier Boy is a legend in the supe market, Homelander is the strongest character we’ve seen in The Boys. Soldier Boy’s plot in The Boys is still up in the air as to how it will differ from the comics, and how he will be able to compete with Homelander. However, a battle between these two characters would be entertaining to see.
Physical Abilities
Soldier Boy was designed to be a duplicate of Captain America in the world of The Boys since his character in the comic book looks to be strong enough that he could stand up to just about any other supe when it comes to his physical strength. On the other hand, the live-action version is claimed to be far more powerful and durable since Billy Butcher characterized his strength as being almost identical to Homelander’s. It’s safe to say that Stormfront and Queen Maeve have nothing on him when it comes to physical prowess.
We have seen a lot of superheroes in The Boys, but Homelander is without a doubt the most powerful and long-lasting one. Stormfront was the only other supe to do any harm to him during a sexual battle between the two. Homelander has never been demonstrated to have suffered enough harm, though, to cause his death, apart from that. Then there was the fact that he hadn’t had to use his power against anything in the past.
Soldier Boy is still weaker and less durable than Homelander. As strong as Homelander may be, we haven’t seen how Soldier Boy will do against the most powerful superhuman yet. That’s why Homelander takes this stance.
Powers
There were never plans to give Soldier Boy any superpowers in The Boys; he was always designed to be a spoof of Captain America’s. He didn’t display any special abilities in the battle against the Sandinistas in the flashback sequence. However, the teaser does make things intriguing since it shows him being capable of launching energy blasts out of his body. It’s possible that the Russians’ experiment on him is to blame, but only time will tell.
Because he is a spoof of Superman, Homelander can accomplish whatever the real Superman can. As such, he can fly, blast heat vision from his eye, and can see through objects using X-ray vision. The only difference between him and Superman is that he can’t lift large items in the air as Superman can.
After spending decades as a Russian experiment, Soldier Boy is likely to get an update, although Homelander still has greater power for the time being. Homelander’s thermal vision has proven to be very lethal, and it’s nearly always enough to win combat for him.
Weapons And Equipment
Soldier Boy, being a Captain America parody, is armed to the teeth with a shield that also doubles as a weapon. Of course, he’s also wearing military gear, so he should be well-protected. In addition, being a veteran of World War II, he is adept with weaponry and is capable of handling any kind of weapon.
Unlike the others, Homelander has no weapons or equipment of any kind since he is the weapon in the first place. Using a weapon would be unnecessary for someone with Homelander’s physical prowess and mental heat vision, which are more potent than anything else in existence. As a result, he appears in The Boys as sexless as possible.
Armed with the correct type of weapon, Soldier Boy could undoubtedly defeat Homelander, even if he already has the upper hand without one. This is why we are awarding this point to Soldier Boy.
Experience
The Captain America analogies will never cease when it comes to Soldier Boy since he has also been around since World War II. Season 3 of The Boys revealed that he had enrolled in the military to help the United States battle the Nazis during World War II. After that, he became the head of Payback, a supe squad that was active throughout the 80s. His longevity has made him one of the world’s most knowledgeable supes since he has been around for a very long period.
Homelander, although being the co-captain of The Seven, hasn’t been around for a very long time. The fact that he is the newest member of The Seven, as demonstrated in The Boys Presents: Diabolical, implies that he lacks experience when compared to the other supes in the globe. While being the greatest hero in the universe would have helped him to collect experience, he still hasn’t been long enough to be just as experienced as the other supes.
As Soldier Boy has been around for a very long period, there is no question that he is perhaps the most experienced supe in the whole globe. That implies that he has more experience than Homelander, and that might prove to become a difference-maker for him.

As such, it is challenging to understand how Homelander could lose a battle against Soldier Boy, who may be strong but is not as strong as the most powerful creature on the earth.
