Succession, inspired by real-life families like the Murdochs, the Hearsts, the Redtones, is an eclectic amalgamation of dysfunctional relationships and thrilling wealth. This dramatic show, revolving around the lives of the Roy Family, goes into detail about a sinister and vicious family that is almost in a bubble from the outside world because of their massive wealth and how they wade through their personal and professional life unbound by law while also planning revenge plans, betrayals, acts of delinquency and a big helping of comedy.
The creator of Succession, Jesse Armstrong, has written these complex characters and their storylines so that while we judge them for their deeds, we can also empathize with them in some moments when whatever is behind the curtains of the uber-rich community unravels. The showrunners also hired wealth consultants to train the cast to act like their worth, thus making the show accurate and without noticeable inconsistencies.
With ripe visual imagery, a talented cast and layers to the plot, Succession was bound to be a hit, and it was! It turned out to be one of HBO’s most-watched shows when it first premiered in 2018. Along with critical acclaim, the show has also been a front runner in award ceremonies of the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.

ToggleRumoured Release Date
The new season might be shorter than the previous seasons because of delays caused by the pandemic. However, reports have claimed that the official release date of the third season will become known to the public by September 2021. Fans eagerly await more details about the adored show.
Expected Cast and Characters
The original troupe will retain their roles in season 3 of Succession. We will see Logan Roy masterfully played by Brian Cox, the head of WayStar Roy Co; Kendall Ray portrayed by Jeremy Strong, seemingly the strongest among the Roy siblings; Sarah Snook will bring the intricacies of Siobhan Roy to the screen, Kieran Culkin will play the youngest sibling, Roman Roy; Matthew MacFayden will grace us with his talent in the role of Tom Wambsgans; Alan Ruck will depict Connor Roy and Cousin Greg played by Nicholas Braun will help paint a picture of the new season.
There will also be new inclusions to the brilliant cast. Sanaa Lathan will play Lisa Arthur, a skilled attorney, Lindo Émond will play Michelle-Anne Vanderhoven, a designated adjutant for the White House, Jihae as Berry Schneider, a proficient public relations officer, Alexander Skarsgård as Lukas Matsson, CEO and founder for a tech enterprise, Adrien Brody as Josh Aaronson, another rich investor and activist and last but not least Ella Rumpf whose character hasn’t been known yet.
Expected Storyline
The surprising twist when Kendall decides to pin the cover upon his father will lead to the third season. While not much is known about what the creators and directors have planned for the new season, it has been described as “very exciting” and “jolly thrilling.” The Roy family’s youngest, Roman, might have a much bigger role and a chance to secure control of his father’s conglomerate WayStar Roy Co.
We will see Logan Roy in a deadly intersection as he tries to navigate through the family’s falls and storms that could turn into a full-on civil war. We might also get to see the Roy family traverse (albeit chicly) through the jaws of the pandemic.
