The romantic comedy film is set in 1985, revolving around the lead characters, Robbie Hart and Julia Sullivan. Robbie Sullivan was about to marry his fiancée, Linda. Linda leaves him on the alter, citing that he has changed and he is not the person she fell in love with.

After the fiasco, he meets Julia Sullivan, who hires him for her wedding to Glenn Gulia, a businessman and bond investor. Her fiancé does not treat her right. This irks Robbie very much.

Robbie feels the spark with Julia; however, she is set to marry Glenn. Will she be able to see Robbie’s love soon enough to leave Glenn?

Our verdict: Stream It.

What Does the Critic Have to Say About The Wedding Singer (1998)?

The romantic flick is watchable. The film has the right amount of comedic and romantic elements. The viewers should also keep in their minds that the film was released in 1998, which was the golden era of romantic comedies. The movie, which is set in the year 1985, has a great supporting cast. The nostalgia hit like a ton of bricks, but the movie has a heart, too, which works for the cheesy rom-com types.

The film is an excellent blend of charm and laugh. It is a movie that people can watch in one sitting with their beloveds or with family. This movie is surely a one-time watch for the lovers of cheesy rom-com films. The film’s ending will satisfy, and even though most of us know how it will end, the film’s plot really makes the characters work for their ending.
