According to Deadline, James Cameron has plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his film Avatar, which was nominated for an Academy Award and was a huge commercial success. The film is also slated for a fresh theatrical release.
Beginning on February 10, 2023, Disney will release a remastered version of the film internationally and make it available in theatres in 3D, 4K HDR, and a high frame rate. Disney will be the exclusive distributor of this version. It is believed that Paramount, who owns the rights to distribute the film in the United States, will decide on a release date within the next few days.
During Disney’s presentation at Cine Europe on Wednesday in Barcelona, Cameron’s longtime producing partner and the chief operating officer of Light storm Entertainment, Jon Landau, dropped hints about the rerelease of Titanic.
After traveling by aircraft for the last 36 hours from New Zealand to Barcelona, Landau finally arrived. There, he reportedly presented a three-dimensional look at the improved version he had developed, as reported by Deadline.
