Is it Hitting the Theatres or the OTT Platforms?
Uncharted is releasing on February 18, 2022, at your nearest IMAX and 4DX in four languages-English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telegu.
What is Uncharted?
Based on the highly popular PlayStation adventure game series from Naughty Dog, which has four but in its mean story, uncharted now it’s the story of a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake who is your classic modern-day Robin Hood stereotype. Occasionally we see Drake teaming up with his old friend and mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan On his global adventures to track down ancient and mythical objects and long-lost treasures.
How is the Movie Different from the Game?
The movie will mostly focus on the origin story of Drake. The movie will provide a prior story to the main games. In Uncharted 3:Drake’s deception contained a brief scene showing a young Drake meeting Sally for the first time, and from a report, we get to know that that scene inspired this movie.
For a better understanding of the movie, one needs to be familiar with the game beard; however one can be sure that there will be lots of Easter eggs for the fans of the games because that’s just how the Entertainment industry works now.
What do We Know from the Trailer?
According to many fans, the Uncharted game series already possesses amazing graphics and set design which wouldn’t be very difficult to transcend into any medium. The set pieces look so original that they would not stick out as a sore thumb in any Hollywood adventure movie. The makers of the film released three trailers.
It is evident from the trailers that we will see a lot of the game sets coming into life in the movie as well. The movie oozes with action sequences, and the chemistry between Nathan and Sully looks very authentic and fun. It is still hard to imagine Tom Holland as Nathan. His face is so widely cast as Spiderman that the idea of any adventure transcends one into the MCU automatically.
However, there is no reason why the movies Nathan cannot differ in concept from the one in the game until and unless there is a heaven and hell difference between the two characters.
Another thing of concern could be the similarity between the character of Nathan to that of Lara Croft and Indiana Jones. This is no hidden fact that the characterization of Nathan Drake is inspired by the character of Indiana Jones in the movies. But there is one very significant difference between the two; unlike Indiana Jones, Nathan does not adhere to Harrison Ford’s archaeologist.
Cast
The movie stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in the lead roles of Nathan Drake and Sully. The movie also stars Sophie Ali, Antonio Banderas, and Tati Gabrielle.
